There are very few things in this world that even come close to beating a diner breakfast. The smells alone can bring you back to your glory days. This recently opened Buffalo diner has been restored back to its prime in Larkinville. Time seems to stand still at the Swan Street Diner, and we're already big fans. Read on to see why you'll never forget a meal here.
The Swan Street Diner is located at 700 Swan Street in Buffalo's Larkinville district.
You can't miss this place with old school appeal and an awesome location. The Swan Street Diner is right next to Larkinville's beer garden.
The diner itself is housed inside a 1937 Sterling Diner Car.
How's that for nostalgia? Swan Street Diner is completely unique and full of history. Everything from the bar stools to the mahogany trim has been completely restored for its new home in Buffalo.
This isn't the first time great food has been served up inside this diner!
Rochester foodies might recall this diner as the Newark Diner, which operated for years under a few different owners. In 2013, the Larkin Development Group purchased the diner car and began restoration.
Even the plates have ties to the 716!
The plates and porcelain at Swan Street will even make you feel like time stands still. The diner serves their delicious dishes on Buffalo China from the Larkin Soap Company.
While its looks are classic, this diner is pushing the envelope with creativity!
The entire aesthetic of this place is top-notch. While the diner is decorated to portray a nostalgic feel, it's also modern in all the right ways. Let's belly up to the bar to see what they have to offer on the menu, shall we? First things first: mimosas with fresh-squeezed orange juice! Cheers!
Breakfast is available all day. Swan Street Diner knows what's good.
The Swan Street Diner is open on Tuesdays through Sundays from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. During open hours, the diner serves up both breakfast and lunch options from their expansive menu.
And the food here is really, really good.
For the breakfast lovers, we highly suggest trying one of Swan Street's omelets, or go big and opt for the biscuits and gravy, just like mama used to make 'em! We told you time stands still here!
Their lunch menu deserves some love, too.
Soups, salads, wraps, burgers, and even pot pies line the lunch menu. We're not typically ones to forego French Toast for BLTs, but Swan Street's lunch menu has the potential to convert us.
Save room for dessert, because we saved the best for last!
What would a classic diner be without milkshakes and floats? Time stands still for real during each sip you take! All milkshake syrups are made in-house and are phenomenal. If sipping from a shake while sitting at an authentic 1930s bar doesn't make you nostalgic, we're not sure what would!
