While there's never a bad time to treat yourself, summertime is definitely ice cream season. If you prefer a sprinkle of nostalgia on your sundae, there's no better place to go than Parkside Candy.
The original Parkside Candy location has been at 3208 Main Street since 1927.
Recently, the shop was lovingly restored to its original glory.
When you step inside, it truly feels like going back in time.
George and Molly Kaiser were the original founders of the store. They owned it for years, expanding to a second location before their son, James, took over in 1951.
30 years later, Philip Buffamonte bought the entire operation, and he still owns it today.
The candy selection is excellent, especially if you love chocolate.
They even sell their own signature sponge candy, and it's addictive in the best way.
Of course, during the summer, you may want to head straight for the ice cream parlor.
Parkside's ice cream parlor is a dessert lover's dream.
Savor hand-dipped ice cream sodas, sundaes, and banana splits while taking a break from the heat.
Parkside Candy also has a small menu of lunch items like soups and sandwiches.
They're open daily from 11 a.m to 8 p.m. (9 p.m. on the weekends), so you'll have plenty of time to treat yourself this summer.
If you haven't been to Parkside Candy since the renovation, it may be time for a treat! You'll see why it's a top stop on our Buffalo ice cream trail.
