If you've spent enough time in Buffalo, you'll know that there are no shortage of places to eat here! The city is thriving when it comes to food options — from the dishes that have been beloved staples for decades to the newer spots that keep the Queen City on the map. While we could write article after article about our food scene, this particular place is especially worthy of a visit. If you're looking for a place to go that will keep you entertained for hours, this is it!
Pearl Street Grill & Brewery has been offering fun to Buffalo residents and visitors since 1997.
It started as a collaboration between local investors and the Wynkoop Brewing Company from Denver. After a few years, the locals were able to buy out the Denver-based brewing company to create a local place to serve their beloved Buffalo.
The building the houses Pearl Street dates back to 1870 when it was originally owned by a Buffalo dressmaker.
For 50 years it was a dressmaking hub until it was sold to R.C. Neal Co and turned into a hardware store. The hardware store operated here until 1982.
During that time Mac Garry’s restaurant opened, operating out of the building's basement. But, in 1963, an expressway was built and the street grade was changed taking away the windows looking into Mac Garry's restaurant. Things ceased for two decades after that.
20 years later, Garcia’s Irish Pub opened in 1983. Until 1996 it was the only business in the once thriving building. That's when Pearl Street Grill & Brewery showed up bringing smiles and full bellies to Buffalo!
The New Orleans-style building has wrap around copper-roofed patios and hundreds of blooming flower baskets. It's perfect for seeing Lake Erie sunsets, cityscapes and waterfront views.
Pearl Street is the best place to go if you want to enjoy a few hours of fun with great food and drinks.
There are four floors at Pearl Street, including the basement. They have a total of 9 bars and countless tap handles. Each one serves house-made craft beer from their holding tanks in the basement.
There's even a game room.
They've got a number of weekly specials, such as this slow roasted pulled pork with baked mac and cheese and baked beans.
Or, keep your fingers crossed for the half pound Kobe burger smothered with bacon, fresh brie cheese, sauteed spinach, and crispy onion straws.
We love the simple but delicious spinach artichoke dip appetizer.
And the portobello sandwich is a must-order.
Heartier appetites should definitely get the ribs!
Not a meat lover? Try the Impossible Burger! It's a 100% Plant-based southwestern style vegan burger topped with crispy fried onions on a vegan split top burger bun.
Even if you're not hungry, Pearl Street won't disappoint. This is just one of the rotating draught lists!
Or, try a flight of their draughts.
Bartenders are magicians here —creating unique cocktails. Or, sometimes pouring two mimosa cocktails at one time!
On the lower level, cellar bar is Brawler's Back-Alley Deli where you can get a fresh Belgian waffle in the morning or host a cocktail party at night.
Celebrations in Buffalo don't get more fun than with locals at Pearl Street.
