Western New York is a more secluded region of our state, and we like to do things our own way - which usually ends up being a bit different from how the rest of New Yorkers do things. This is especially true when it comes to food, and one of the state’s most unique and delicious restaurants happens to be right here in the heat of Buffalo. If you've been craving something sweet and savory, then hold on tight because your taste buds are going to explode once you walk through the doors of this one eatery.
Over on West Chippewa Street, just minutes away from your favorite downtown attractions, you’ll fine one of the most unique restaurants in the Northeast.
The Chocolate Bar opened up just a few years ago but has quickly become one of the city's top-rated restaurants, drawing customers in with its enticing chocolate theme.
The multi-level restaurant features plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs. You'll find seats available up at the bar and at small tables, as well as at larger tables and booths.
If you're looking to feast on something savory, you'll be happy to know that you can find mouthwatering menu items like a 20-ounce prime rib, fried ravioli, flatbread pizzas, shrimp, and buffalo chicken dishes.
Though not a breakfast restaurant, The Chocolate Bar serves up some amazing crepes accompanied by piles of tasty fruits like bananas or strawberries. Talk about scrumptious!
However, the theme (and specialty) here is chocolate, and no visit is complete without a bit of the decadent sweets.
The Chocolate Bar has become well-loved for its fondue dishes, where you can dip things like fruit, Oreos, vanilla wafers, or Rice Krispies into a warm bowl of chocolate goodness.
There are also quite a few unusual chocolate dishes on the menu, like the Chocolate Bar Past, which is topped with a white chocolate cream sauce, or the Chocolate Bar Baguette, which is a toasted baguette covered in dark chocolate and sea salt. These quirky dishes are absolutely delicious, but if this sounds a little too far out there for you, you can always opt for one of the award-winning chocolate desserts.
We'd be doing you a serious injustice if we didn't explain why you'll find so many people surrounded by the bar and ordering drinks from here.
The Chocolate Bar's drink menu will leave you in awe. Where else can you find Chocolate Shooters?! These sweet drinks are an absolute must-try while you're here.
You'll also be blown away by the huge variety of chocolate-themed martinis that seem almost too delicious to be true. Fair warning: you may end up overwhelmed by choices like Chocolate, Chocolate Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Salted Caramel, and White Chocolate Raspberry martinis.
If you haven't experienced Buffalo's only chocolate-themed restaurant yet, then go eat your way through the amazing menus at The Chocolate Bar as soon as possible.
