Hill's Cafe has a rich history, and it all began with a man named Charles Goodnight.
Charles Goodnight is often regarded as the most legendary cattle rancher in Texas' rich history. In addition to hunting with the Caddo Indians and guiding the Texas Rangers, Goodnight is also famous for inventing the Chuckwagon. This man knew his cuts of meat, and he soon wanted to share his delectable meals with Austin residents.
Goodnight opened the famous Hill's Cafe in 1947.
Beginning as a 20-seat coffee shop, Hill's Cafe soon expanded into the huge restaurant it is today. You won't feel like a true Texan until you taste their slice of history.
