We’ve discussed the tiny town of Jasper before, as it’s totally surrounded by incredible natural beauty. With a full time population that hovers around 450 people, Jasper is tiny. Nearby Low Gap Township is even tinier. You probably already know about the area and its proximity to natural wonders like the Arkansas Grand Canyon and the Buffalo National River, but there’s a little cafe hiding out near Jasper, in the community of Low Gap, that is also well worth the journey out into the wild.
The Low Gap Cafe is located on Highway 74 in Low Gap Township, right near Jasper.
When it comes to a tiny cafe with lots of rustic charm, out in the woods of the Buffalo Wilderness seems like the perfect place to find it, doesn’t it?
Low Gap Cafe is exactly the kind of place you’ll love: tiny, off-the-beaten-path, and totally full of delicious cooking. Their sign advertises wifi and art, and with that combination, you can’t go wrong.
The interior of the cafe is as cozy as you’d think it might be, and it's full of friendly faces, as well. It's called the friendliest place in town for a reason.
You’ll find some classics on their menu, like prime rib.
You can even get a burger if you want.
You’ll also find some dishes you might not expect, like this lobster ravioli:
And this gorgeous red snapper with capers and white wine butter sauce:
No matter if you’re going for the traditional home-style fare or to try your luck with the surprising menu offerings, you’re not going to be sorry you trekked out to a tiny community in the woods for a little cafe.
Low Gap Cafe aims high when it comes to their menu, their cozy atmosphere, and their friendly service, and they certainly hit the mark every time.
You're going to love this burger barn hiding out in the woods, and this restaurant on the Arkansas River, and this restaurant with another incredible view. In fact, you might want to look at this list as well.
