Do you love sweets? Lucky for you, Arkansas has no shortage of candy shops around the state. From chocolates to old-fashioned candies and just about every sugary thing in between, you can find something to satisfy your sweet tooth at one of these six candy stores.
1. Juanita's Candy Kitchen, Arkadelphia
If you like brittle, fudge, and chocolate, then look no further than Juanita's Candy Kitchen! In 1974, Juanita began making peanut brittle that she would peddle all around Arkansas. Over time, word of the tasty homemade treats got out and her business grew. She later added additional brittles like cashew and pecan. Even though Juanita is no longer with us, her legacy continues and you may visit the candy kitchen to pick up brittle, homemade fudge, and chocolates.
2. Martin Greer's Candies, Garfield
Located in the Ozarks, Martin Greer's Candies has been a family tradition for three generations. This candy shop makes their sweets in the old world tradition using recipes that date back to the Civil War era. A variety of brittles, caramel nut tempters, old-time fudge, and salt-water taffy can all be purchased at their store or online. However, they have many more sweets for sale in the store!
3. Pour Some Sugar On Me Sweet Shoppe, Hot Springs
Gummies, jelly beans, chocolates, cotton candy, and even ice cream are all offered at Pour Some Sugar On Me Sweet Shoppe located across from Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs. You may want to try one of the many interesting cotton candy flavors they have like blackberry lemonade, oreo, or red velvet! Many of their goodies, including their cotton candy, can be purchased online if you can't make it into the store.
4. Kopper Kettle Candies, Van Buren
Since 1925 and throughout four generations, Kopper Kettle Candies has been making sugary treats using fresh, quality ingredients. Although they are known for their fine chocolates, this candy confectionery also sells salt-water taffy, peanut brittle, pecan divinity, pecan pralines, and assorted candies. They also make certain items seasonally, such as gourmet candy apples. Many of the products they sell in-store are also available for purchase online.
5. Pookie's Popcorn & Candies, Bryant
Pookie's Popcorn may have an extensive list of popcorn flavors, but that's not all they have! In the shop, you can find a variety of pies, cotton candy, peanut brittle, brownies, candy, and unique sodas. But you won't want to leave without trying their popcorn and there are 90 popcorn flavors to choose from. Popcorn tins are available if you want to get a gift for someone and you may also order online.
6. Sugar & Spite, Eureka Springs
Sugar & Spite is not your ordinary candy store. In addition to just about every classic candy you can think of and a wide variety of glass-bottled sodas to choose from, you can also find novelty gifts.
