2. Calico County (Fort Smith)

Calico County is Fort Smith’s favorite eatery, and it has tons of comfort food classics from the Southern food canon. The breakfast menu is fried, floating in gravy, and glorious. And the lunch and dinner menus offer options for light eaters and hearty eaters alike. Plus they serve you cinnamon rolls before your entree even comes. 3. Khana Indian Grill (Fayetteville)

Tikka masala and naan and khati rolls oh my! Fayetteville Yelpers voted Khana Indian Grill as their local fave. They’ve got a diverse menu sure to please your palate, and they’re focused on "real food"—for them this means using authentic and seasonal ingredients, prepared fresh in their kitchen. You can find this truly awe-inspiring Bhel Puri at 2101 North College in Fayetteville.

4. Taqueria Guanajuato (Springdale)

This one might be a little bit difficult to pronounce for some of our Southern tongues, but Springdale diners say Taqueria Guanajuato is the best place to eat in their town. It’s got traditional Mexican cuisine, made fresh in the Taqueria Guanajuato kitchen, and boy-howdy is this place affordable! You can eat these ridiculously gorgeous sopes at 812 North Thompson Street, Suite 6, in Springdale. You can get those sopes for less than $3 a piece. Yes, I said "less than $3." There, I said it again.

5. Omar’s Uptown (Jonesboro)

If you happen to be looking for some upscale cuisine in the Jonesboro area, try the fantastic Omar’s Uptown. This one isn’t only a favorite among Yelpers, though; AY Magazine named them best chef, best date restaurant, and best overall service in Northeast Arkansas. You can find these gorgeous oysters and so much more at 301 South Main in Jonesboro.

6. David’s Burgers (Conway)

Conway’s favorite restaurant is a burger joint from the small Arkansas-based chain, David’s Burgers. They cut their fries fresh throughout the day and use only Grade A Chuck for their patties. And the vegetables? They’re cut fresh too. They focus on a simple theme: perfectly made burgers. You can sink your teeth into this delicious bacon cheeseburger at 1100 Skyline Drive in Conway.

7. Havana Tropical Grill (Rogers)

Wishing there were a place on this list where you can get fried plantains? Rogers Yelpers say the Cuban food at Havana Tropical Grill is simply amazing. The boast of being "the only authentic Cuban restaurant in NWA," and they’re certainly the only Cuban restaurant you’ll ever need. This drool-inspiring carne con papa is available at 1207 West Walnut Street in Rogers.

8. Zapata’s Mexican Grill & Cantina (Texarkana)

Travelers and native Texarkansans alike say that their absolute favorite place to eat is Zapata’s Grill. Zapata’s has the distinction of being the only restaurant on this list frequented by Louisianans, Texans, Oklahomans, and, of course, Arkansans. 9. Zoe’s Eatery & Art (Hot Springs)

Though it began as a coffee and smoothie shop, Zoe’s Eatery has become the most happening lunch and brunch spot in town. They serve totally delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, and more.
