Rooftop restaurants in Arizona offer the best of both worlds: great food and breathtaking views. Skysill Rooftop Lounge is one such place, perched on the 18th floor of the Westin Tempe. Overlooking the Sonoran Desert and A Mountain, it's the tallest rooftop bar in the Valley!
The newest hotel in downtown Tempe, the Westin Tempe is nestled at the edge of the mystical Painted Desert.
It may look like an ordinary hotel, but it's harboring a secret that can't be seen from ground level.
On the 18th floor of the hotel, Skysill Rooftop Lounge is the highest open-air rooftop bar in the Valley.
The lounge is open day and night, offering panoramic vistas of the sprawling Sonoran Desert and nearby A Mountain.
By day, the bar is a quiet place to unwind as you sip and savor the drinks, food, and views.
After dark, however, the mood livens up considerably, encouraging you to let loose and shake off all your worries.
The extensive drink menu features handcrafted cocktails, plus a wide variety of beer and wine selections.
Whether you're in the mood for a "Tempe Mule," with cucumber vodka and hints of prickly pear and lime, or a frosty mug of Coors Light, there's something for everyone.
Doubling as a restaurant, Skysill offers both small snacks and full entrees.
The ahi poke tacos are a house favorite, as are the smoked short rib sliders.
You'll also see three different salads: a house, Caesar, and quinoa bowl made with all-organic ingredients.
If you'd like to up the protein, roasted chicken breast, seared salmon, or grilled jumbo shrimp can be added to any salad for an extra fee.
Whatever you do, make sure to save room for dessert.
Can you think of anything better than indulging in s'mores fondue or a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with a drink in hand and your toes in the rooftop infinity pool?
Bar hours are 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 2 p.m. until midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. until midnight on Saturday, and 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Visit the bar's website or Facebook page for more information.
