My favorite part of the holidays has always been the lights. There is something simply magical about seeing hundreds of lights illuminated against a dark sky with cheerful music playing in the background, but the experience is made even better by seeing it with the people you love. We’re going to check out one new holiday light display that you’ll want to see with your family and friends.
Located near Interstate 17 and Jomax Road, Illumination is a surprising new addition to the annual Christmas light displays that go up this time of year. What makes this one stand out is that you can view the entire show from the comfort of your car!
The attraction was built this fall and hosted its grand opening on November 15. All you need to do is purchase a ticket for one vehicle admission and drive your family out to the light show. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The drive is a slow, half hour drive over the course of a mile where you’ll see more than 1 million lights dancing against the night sky. The lights are also timed with music that you can tune into through a radio station.
Along the way, you’ll get to see a variety of beautiful sights: lit Christmas trees, saguaro cacti, and plenty of light tunnels that will make drive feel absolutely magical.
Once you finish the drive, you can head over to the attraction’s Holiday Boulevard, which features a walkable area with more lights, Santa’s village, and food.
Just imagine the memories you'll create from this experience!
