Alaskans have never let cold temperatures deter them from their love of ice cream.
In fact, Alaska is repeatedly acknowledged as the number one consumer of ice cream out of all the United States, regardless of our long winters. We know a fantastic product when we see it!
This business has managed to combine these two passions into a reward system for lovers of their specialty ice cream.
They offer a winter loyalty card for Alaskans, where you get a stamp for one cup or cone purchased. Once the weather hits below 32 degrees, or it's actively snowing outside, you get two stamps for each cone!
If you're a die-hard ice cream fanatic no matter the temperature, they added an extra incentive for those truly cold days.
On days the Anchorage winter dips below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, you can head in and get triple stamps for ordering their ice cream! This is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
If you're not feeling ice cream but you want to visit their cozy shop, they have other options available for you.
You can try their Baked Alaska Affogato, which tops two shots of local Alaskan espresso from Black Cup, a scoop of your favorite ice cream, and finishes it with their house made marshmallow fluff. They'll torch the fluff to caramelize it, and then you're ready to enjoy one amazing dessert!
Every holiday they'll also craft unforgettable ice cream pies.
You can set your table with Mint Oreo Pies or Peppermint Cocoa Holiday Pie. Or go crazy and order one of their incredible ice cream tacos crafted out of their home made waffle cones. These are just as delicious as you'd think they'd be!
This ice cream shop actually has multiple locations for you to visit.
Visit them in their downtown scoop shop on 429 E St., or you can head to midtown Anchorage and order their ice cream in their newest scoop shop on 530 E Benson Blvd in Anchorage. Both ice cream shops have the same winter hours, from 12:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays.
