Who doesn't love dessert? Personally, I like to order my dessert before my meal so I don't end up too stuffed to enjoy it! If you're a dessert hound like me, then you've got to check out these unique and delicious desserts you may not even know exist! We've hunted down some of the most unique and delectable desserts from restaurants around the state and can't wait to hear what you think about them! Love them or leave them, let us know in the comments :)
Please note: Two Sisters Bakery is temporarily closed.
1) The Grape Tap
The Grape Tap in Wasilla has a delicious dessert that is an absolute must if you're in the area! Their twist on a Peanut Butter Oreo Mudslide Pie... mmmm good.
2) Bear Tooth Grill
At the Bear Tooth Grill in Anchorage they don't have a dessert menu, they have a Sugar Tooth Dessert Menu with the always delicious and well known Caramel Turtle Fudge Ice Cream Pie. Doesn't that just SOUND mouth-watering?!
3) Two Sisters Bakery
Two Sisters Bakery in Homer has a famous flourless chocolate and wine cake called the Boca Negra.
The Boca Negra... It's as good as it looks, trust me!
4) The Crepery
The Crepery in Fairbanks serves the best crepes around, obviously, but they also serve the best creme brûlée crepe you'll ever find.
5) Annabelle's Famous Keg & Chowder House
Annabelle's in Ketchikan serves up the best carrot cake in Alaska. The moist cake is made in house and smothered in a delicious home made cream cheese frosting.
6) Turkey Red
Turkey Red in Palmer serves up the best Lemon custard tart with blueberries, just make sure you stop in when the blueberries are ripe! You'll thank me :)
7) The Rookery Cafe
In Juneau, The Rookery is the place to go if you're in the mood for their one-of-a-kind three layer chocolate cake! Splurge a little and get a slice to go because you'll be drooling over it in your dreams later.
8) The Glacier Brewhouse
I can't lie, ALL of the desserts at The Brewhouse are to die for, but their World Famous Bread Pudding takes the cake. Just imagine... Vanilla custard, apples, currants, and caramelized pecans all smothered in a deliciously mind blowing Yukon Jack sauce.
9) Le Barn Appetit Creperie
The Le Barn Appetit Creperie in Seward is not only a delicious place to stop for crepes, but it's also a charming Inn. Next time you're in Seward, stop in at Le Barn Appetit and enjoy their world famous dessert crepes. The Banana Jam Crepe and the Bavarian Cream are my favorites.
Have you been to any of these places? What was your favorite dessert? Where else can you find incredible desserts in Alaska?
