From the back deck of the restaurant stretches the seemingly endless expanse of the Kenai Flats. Wildlife abound from eagles to caribou to moose to ravens, as the Alaskan wilderness lies open before you.
The Flats is an elegant spot with dark wood, a rotating collection of local artists work on the walls, and a clean, modern feel. Live music is regularly scheduled in the evenings.
Noted for their extensive wine menu, available both by the bottle and the glass, as well as full bar of local Alaskan microbrews.
Lunch is from 11:30-4 and they feature both lunch and brunch items, like this elegant take on Huevo Rancheros. Dinner is 5 PM - 10 PM and the restaurant is open Monday through Saturday.
The California burger is a hit with fresh avocado. The restaurant makes everything by hand, including beef patties hand ground and shaped, house smoked meats, and handmade sausages.
Wild Alaskan seafood is the most abundant resource of the area, and the chefs highlight scallops, prawns, shrimp, salmon, and halibut caught right off the shores of the Kenai Peninsula.
Oysters from the Kachemak Bay are prized around the world, and here you can get them spitting fresh and served on the half shell or in excellent specials.
The Copper River salmon dish, with rice and soubise sauce, highlights fresh caught wild Alaska salmon. There are also a variety of steaks including filet mignon, handmade pastas and delicious fresh, local produce.
The IPA-Brined Cauliflower Steak is a delicious vegetarian option served with pesto and a bed of creamy white beans. They also have gluten-free options, so there is something for everyone.
Desserts are handmade, in-house, often using flavors of the area. Local wildberries are used in season including blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, and salmon berries.
