If you're looking for a great place to eat outdoors, the Spenard Food Truck Festival just reopened for the season. Filled with all of your favorite meals, you can peruse the selection and choose one of everything. Located in Spenard, in Anchorage, Alaska, it's the perfect spot for lunch, no matter where you are in the city.
Every year you know spring has arrived because the Spenard Food Truck Carnival has begun!
Happening once a week, you can find them in Spenard under the windmill at Chilkoot Charlies. Every Thursday you can dine on some of the best food in town, served from the smallest places.
This is a great place to go to get out of the house and celebrate winter's end.
If it's a little too chilly, or you're looking to avoid the crowds, you can always take this awesome food to-go. And with so many selections for you to choose from, there's something that everyone in the family will love!
Find an Alaskan favorite, Tiki Pete's Alaskan Grill!
They serve tasty dishes like the Nacho Dog, which is a hot dog topped with black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, cheese, jalapeños, and topped with sour cream and and nacho cheese chips.
Another treasure that can be found at the food truck carnival is the Back Porch Food Truck.
They have mouth watering dishes like this loaded baked potato. You can get it topped with butter, cheese, sour cream, green and grilled onions, bbq sauce, and is topped with brisket, pulled pork, or even smoked jack fruit.
You'll want to line up for the pizza out of Wicked Wahine 907!
They have specials like the double shovel. Topped with crisp Fuji apple, honey mustard sauce, blue cheese, reindeer sausage, and delicious caramelized onions, a slice of this will warm you right up!
The amazing Mochileros Street Food Truck makes an appearance as well.
You can order items like their juicy pork carnitas tacos with handmade corn tortillas. Or warm up with their bacon chorizo kale soup, and finish it off with a sweet ending with tres leches cake or key lime cake.
The season officially started on Thursday, March 12th.
You can find them going forward, every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Grab your delicious food to-go and take it home, while still supporting local businesses this spring!
