Dreamland Bar-B-Que has been a local favorite for more than 50 years. Even though this restaurant serves a variety of barbecue favorites, including pulled pork, pork shoulders and smoked sausage, it's best known for its delicious ribs. (5535 15th Ave E)
2. Holy Smokes BBQ - Scottsboro
Holy Smokes BBQ is quite possibly the best BBQ joint in Scottsboro. In addition to their delicious barbecue, they're also known for their mouthwatering side dishes, including potato salad, baked beans and slaw. (108 Tupelo Pike)
3. Chuck Wagon BBQ - Madison
Since 2008, Chuck Wagon BBQ has been serving the most flavorful Texas-style barbecue in Madison. A few of this restaurant's most popular menu items include beef brisket, sausage and pork ribs. (8982 Madison Blvd)
4. Down South Bar-B-Que - Foley
You can't travel to Alabama's beautiful Gulf Coast without first making a stop at Down South Bar-B-Que in Foley. Their famous cornbread sandwiches make the stop totally worth it. (19891 County Road 10)
5. K & J Rib Shack - Montgomery
There's no denying that K & J Rib Shack serves the best ribs in Montgomery. This barbecue restaurant is a definite must stop the next time you're passing through Alabama's capital city. (4255 S Court St)
6. Mary's Pit Bar-B-Que - Gurley
Mary's Pit Bar-B-Que, which has been a local favorite since 1958, is located off the beaten path in Madison County. The pulled pork sandwich is a definite must try! (179 Hurricane Creek Rd)
7. The Brick Pit - Mobile
The Brick Pit is well known for its moist, tender meat that's been smoked up to 30 hours over a blend of hickory and pecan wood. The portions are quite large, so be sure to bring your appetite. (5456 Old Shell Rd)
8. Archibald’s BBQ - Northport
Since 1961, Archibald's BBQ has been serving some of the best ribs you'll ever eat. This local favorite doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you try their delicious ribs, you'll be blown away! (1211 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd)
9. BBQ 65 - Greenville
The next time you're passing through Greenville, be sure to stop by BBQ 65 and give their barbecue a try. It's fantastic! Their fried green tomatoes are also worth raving about. Two words: TRY THEM! (2391 Pineapple Hwy/I-65, Exit 128)
10. Miss Myra's Pit Bar-B-Q - Vestavia
Miss Myra's Pit Bar-B-Q is a true gem in the Cahaba Heights area. This mom and pop barbecue restaurant is best known for its large portions of barbecue, its delicious sides, and its amazing housemade sauces. (3278 Cahaba Heights Rd)
