The Freezer Tiki Bar in Homosassa, Florida is a relaxed, no-fuss hideaway serving up cold beer and fresh plates of crab.
Situated right in a marina, you’ll have waterfront views as you dine. But what really makes this beloved local spot unique is the fact that the restaurant actually used to be a bait freezer for Cedar Key Fish and Crab.
This restaurant has been open for over a decade and is known for its seafood - starting with the baskets of steamed shrimp, which can be seasoned to your liking or served with sauce and lemon juice.
But the real draw for patrons is the portions of crab, including steamed snow, stone claws, whole crab, and more.
Depending on your crab preference, this place has them in spades. You can get to cracking with the crab legs…
…or be provided with your very own mallet and crack some crab claws to smithereens, revealing the tender meat inside.
While there are plenty of other food favorites outside of the seafood scope, it’s really the crab and shrimp that make this place what it is. The Freezer Homosassa shrimp and crab are incredibly fresh and delicious!
Considered to be a bit off the beaten path, many locals say this is a hole-in-the-wall spot that deserves to be on every bucket list.
