The giant head of Abraham Lincoln is one of the most unusual and interesting things for you to add to your itinerary when you visit Wyoming. You'll find this unique and fascinating tourist destination off of I-80; between Laramie and Cheyenne.
This unusual statue was created by Robert Russin, a sculptor who was commissioned by Wyoming Parks Commission to honor the former President's 150th birthday.
The bust of Abraham Lincoln is just under 13 feet and the foundation of the monument is about 20 feet tall.
Even though some might consider the monument a tourist trap, it's hard to resist not making a stop at this rest area.
The unique monument sits at the Summit Rest Area. Guests can learn about the history of this part of Wyoming while also checking out the view of Abraham Lincoln.

It's certainly strange to see an enormous statue of Lincoln hanging out at a rest stop! While you're here, remember to take in the stunning views.
The monument also commemorates the Lincoln Highway - one of the first roads to go from San Francisco, CA to New York, NY.
