Out on the western edges of what might be considered suburban Milwaukee is a small Lake Country town that you really need to check out. Delafield is a charming and beautiful little spot right on Nagawicka Lake. It looks a bit like you've stepped out of a Dickens story or Rockwell painting. From its 1868 roots as a church to its different incarnations as everything from a theater to a clothing boutique, "The Steeple," as this building is affectionately known around the area, is as much a part of Delafield as the surrounding lakes.

It's a beacon as you approach the town and it's a piece of the landscape that generations of folks remember.

Now this beautiful, historical building has been given new life as a seasonal, local restaurant.

The inside is bright and airy - the large picture windows up front and the big ceiling help keep it feeling open and the decor is an interesting modern juxtaposition with the older building.

There's a brilliant outdoor patio that's perfect for people-watching on a warm day as people stroll all around town. It's a beautiful, shady spot to while away an hour or three.

At night, the patio is a great spot to enjoy a nightcap and unwind after a long day.

The menu is constantly changing and always includes seasonal elements.

Though there are brunch and simple sandwich options on the menu, the kitchen shines here when you let them serve you some of the most interesting plates of food in the area.

These folks are community focused and driven. They can tell you which of the nearby farms much of the food comes from. This is farm-to-table at its finest.

Belfrē is honestly a little bit of everything in the best possible way. Stop in for a coffee or cocktail. Linger with friends over an exquisite lunch. Have a special night out with a date. Or meet up for one last sip of the night while you enjoy the last of the nice weather.
