Wisconsin has many claims to fame – it’s home to Titletown, it’s America’s Dairyland, and it’s home to the world class University of Wisconsin. But the Dairy State also has one more quirky, and tangy, bragging right. The one and only National Mustard Museum is located in the heart of Middleton. It’s the largest collection of mustard on Earth and it’s arguably Wisconsin’s weirdest museum. Here’s why you should pay it a visit.

The National Mustard Museum is located in Middleton, a city that borders Madison. It’s a fun excursion for travelers to the Madison area.
The museum was founded by Barry Levenson, an attorney who was a collector of mustard jars and memorabilia. The museum started as a small exhibit in his law office, but eventually grew to become a full-fledged museum.
The museum is home to a collection of over 6,000 mustards from all over the world, as well as mustard memorabilia, such as antique mustard pots and vintage advertisements. There are mustards from all 50 states and 70 countries!
Visitors can learn about the history of mustard, see how it is made, and sample different varieties of mustard in the museum's tasting bar. But be warned: you’ll hear a lot of corny mustard jokes!
In addition to its exhibits, the National Mustard Museum also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, Including National Mustard Day each August. The event takes over the heart of downtown Middleton and celebrates this spicy condiment. You can even try mustard ice cream!
The museum is also a shopping destination - it has a store where visitors can purchase a variety of mustards and mustard-related products. You’ll find mustard from all over the world!
