Winter can be one of those cold seasons that makes you want to bundle up with a warm blanket and a good book. There is certainly a time and a place for that, but we want to encourage you to get outside and make the most of the season. There are lots of great winter activities awaiting us in the Badger State. Our highlight today takes us to the whimsical world of Ice Castles in Wisconsin. The company that brought you crystalized ice spires and a labyrinth of frozen tunnels is back with a new experience this winter. It's called Winter Relalms and is bound to be one of the coolest places to visit this wintertime. Let's bundle up and embark on a journey into this icy world.
An award-winning frozen attraction, Ice Castles will be coming to four different states across North America. Colorado, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Utah are all going to be hosting the locations of giant ice castles but two places are going to be getting a new experience this year.
Both New York and Wisconsin will be hosting Winter Realms, which is a brand new attraction from Ice Castles, and this year it will be located at the Geneva National Resort.
Winter Realms opened at the Geneva National Resort on January 26, 2024. Due to the nature of the event weather plays a big role so be sure to check ahead to make sure there are no cancelations.
Undoubtedly Wisconsin’s coolest attraction, the expansive ice kingdom features sleigh rides, the Mythic Light Walk, snow tubing hills, an ice slide, The Polar Pub, an Artic Village, and an ice volcano. All of your favorite wintertime activities are in one place, plus a couple of new ones to try.
Not only does the attraction feature a myriad of structures beautifully built into a frozen outdoor landscape…
…but it also boasts breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, thrones, tunnels, slides, and much more.
A true work of art, the Artic Village is filled with igloos and caverns filled with beautiful LED lights. Explore the grounds is truly a walk through a winter wonderland filled with enchanting sights everywhere you turn. Be on the lookout for special ice sculptures for more wonderful artwork to enjoy hidden throughout the village.
One of the best ways to experience Winter Realms is to get there later in the day when the sun is still up. Walk around the grounds and take in all of the views while you still have sunlight, then watch as the whole place lights up for a magical adventure at night.
Getting both experiences is one way to make the most of your time at this incredible winter attraction.
For a truly royal adventure, pair your visit to Ice Castles with an overnight stay at Geneva National Resort or the neighboring Ridge Hotel.
The resort’s curated overnight experience includes Winter Realms tickets AND complimentary access to the on-site Winter Wonderland, which boasts ice skating, snow-shoeing, and sledding (weather permitting).
Ice Castles in Wisconsin will look a little different this year but the same enchanting experience can be found at this new wintertime attraction. Ticket prices vary from $26 - $30, depending on whether you visit during the peak or off-peak times. To purchase tickets, please visit the Winter Realms website.
