4. Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum
This former mental asylum was forced to close after a decline in funding and overcrowded conditions.You can take especially spooky flashlight tours or overnight ghost hunts here.
5. West Virginia State Penitentiary
This former prison is said to be haunted by the souls that lived and died behind bars. You can take a tour of the most haunted spots, and even spend the night ghost hunting.
6. 22 Mine Road
Mamie Thurman was brutally murdered in 1932, and her body dumped along the remote 22 Mine Road near Logan. Although an illiterate handyman was charged with he crime, most people believe that her true murderer was never found, and her final resting place is uncertain. It's said that her ghost still haunts the mountain road.
This unique building has a history of corruption and exploitation. Some say that it's haunted by some of the miners that lived in the company town. Whipple Company Store is located at 7485 Okey L Patteson Rd, Scarbro, WV.
8. Lake Shawnee Amusement Park
This park near Princeton was forced to close after a couple of children died there. It's reported to be haunted, and occasionally opens for tours in October.
This abandoned railroad tunnel near Salem, WV is said to be haunted by several spirits.
10. Point Pleasant
This little river town is most famously associated with the Mothman, a strange creature who is said to have predicted the collapse of a bridge. Mothman sightings have dramatically decreased since the bridge collapse, but you can still visit the town and see the Mothman statue and museum.
