Harpers Ferry is one of the most beloved destinations in West Virginia. With mountain views, historic charm, thriving shops and small businesses, and more, it's no wonder so many love this area so much! And of all the wonderful times of year you could choose to visit Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Christmas is arguably the best time of them all. Christmas festival, anyone?
Hallmark Christmas movies - you've seen some of them, right? They're sweet, festive stories with comforting happy endings that add some warmth and cheer to the dark, cold December nights leading up to Christmas.
These Hallmark movies are often set in small, secluded mountain towns.
There's likely to be a pet or two involved.
There's always festive music to accentuate various heart-warming scenes.
There might even be a romantic carriage or sleigh ride or two.
Hey! You know what all that sounds like, besides a Hallmark Christmas movie?
It sounds like a Harpers Ferry Olde Tyme Christmas (or Old Time Christmas) event.
During Olde Tyme Christmas, walkways and buildings are beautifully decorated with fresh greenery. Shops stay open a little extra long. Music plays. Carriages carry passengers on tours of the historic downtown area.
Yes, we're pretty sure this magical West Virginia Christmas festival is straight out of a Hallmark movie!
Olde Tyme Christmas typically takes place during the first two weekends of December.
Have you ever been to Harpers Ferry during Olde Tyme Christmas? This historic mountain town is beautiful in any season, but especially during the holiday season!
