Getting out of doors for an adventurous (shopping) excursion in The Mountain State isn't always an easy thing to do, especially in the colder months. But at this gigantic indoor/outdoor year-round marketplace, you'll find everything under the sun at this one colossal market in Charleston.
It began in the 1800s as a modest direct-to-consumer marketplace for farmers to market their harvests. Over time, it's grown to be the largest outdoor year-round market in West Virginia and it's a place where you can shop and dine at your convenience, seven days a week, all year long.
Known as the Capitol Market, the combination of indoor/outdoor spaces here is partly comprised of numerous trendy outdoor covered sheds organized with easy to navigate aisles.
From fresh veggies...
to seasonal flowers...
the Capitol Market's outdoor agricultural vendors are aplenty. At last count, there were 40 regular ag vendors at the market!
Inside, you'll find 16,000 square feet of more shopping. Various retailers and vendors occupy the trendy space, including restaurants and a coffee bar.
Set up in an open-air layout, this indoor space feels more like an outdoor venue.
Have you discovered the goodness found at this massive indoor/outdoor market in The Mountain State? We'd love to know!
