Where do you get your groceries? While most of Washington's cities and towns have at least one recognizable chain store we all know and love, sometimes it's fun to visit those old school spots that have been around for a century or longer. And Washington's oldest continuously operated store happens to be on the Long Beach Peninsula, so it's a great place to grab groceries while you're on vacation.
If you've ever been to Long Beach, you've probably seen Jack's Country Store.
It's located at 26006 Washington 103 in Ocean Park.
Believe it or not, this store is older than the state itself.
Jack’s Country Store was founded in 1885, when the area was still part of Washington territory.
Not only is the store well-stocked with grocery items, but they often have great samples to try.
This is one place where grocery shopping hungry is not a bad idea.
The general store lives up to its name. You'll find plenty of other necessities as well.
You'll find a great collection of souvenirs and oddities to go with those necessities.
If you forgot something for your vacation, you'll probably find it here.
This 130-year-old store still has some great deals.
They're open daily from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., so you'll have plenty of time to shop.
Visiting Jack's Country Store feels like going back in time. It's fun to visit our oldest businesses -- for example, the oldest restaurant in Washington is a great (and delicious) experience.
