Ocean Park is a small, quiet community located on the Long Beach Peninsula. It’s also home to Washington’s oldest general store - a store so old, in fact, that it predates our statehood. Anyone who has visited Jack’s Country Store knows just how marvelous a place it still is.
Jack’s Country Store was founded in 1885 when the area was still part of Washington territory.
That makes it the oldest continuously operated retail business in the state. Miraculously, it has lost none of its original charm.
Visitors love the vintage ambiance, oak showcases and stained glass ceilings.
The building has always been beautiful, and it has been very well-maintained. Jack’s has been remodeled a few times, but the historic look is always preserved.
The merchandise array is impressive.
This is a full grocery store, offering produce, coffee, fresh local seafood and specialty meats. They also have a bakery, an in-store smokehouse and deli with fresh cold cut meats and rotisserie chickens.
If you’re hungry when you walk in, you’re in luck - Jack’s has premade goodies as well.
They have a selection of sandwiches, soups and desserts in case you need something premade for a beach picnic.
Throughout the store, you’ll find plenty of uncommon items.
This is so much more than just a grocery store. Jack’s has kitchen and household items like pots and pans, juicers, kitchen gadgets and even vacuum food sealers.
They’ve got a full hardware section for the local fixer uppers, and they have a great collection of magazines and books.
Kids and kids at heart will love the old-fashioned toys…
… and collectors will love the offbeat decor and collectibles.
You never know what you’ll find at Jack’s Country Store, and that’s just the way they like it.
Over 130 years after opening, it remains a local legend.
