Washington's connection to glass art is impressive. After all, the Seattle-Tacoma area is an international epicenter for glass art, with more glass blowing shops than almost anywhere in the world.
Of course, we all know that internationally known glass sculptor Dale Chihuly was born and raised in Tacoma, and his absolutely phenomenal work can be seen at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. But if you have any interest at all in learning more about this unique art (and you should), don't miss the chance to check out the Museum of Glass.
You'll find the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, sitting right in the heart of the downtown area.
The museum opened in 2002, immediately establishing a fantastic reputation.
The museum itself is definitely worth seeing, but one of the main attractions sits outside.
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass is a stunning link to the Museum of Glass and the Thea Foss Waterway.
The 500-foot pedestrian bridge is open to the public 24 hours a day.
It features three amazing Chihuly glass installations, and locals and tourists alike love to visit.
If you visit this one-of-a-kind museum, finding the Chihuly Bridge of Glass is a must.
Best of all, the bridge gets you closer to the main attraction, the Museum of Glass.
