What's weird to one person may be perfectly normal to another. Luckily, there is something for everyone in the Green Mountain State that will make you smile as well as give you a new perspective on things. 1. The Museum of Everyday Life - Route 16, Glover
You'll find everyday items here as you take a step back from your busy life and see the objects we often overlook on a daily basis. Specialty exhibits have ranged from matches, to safety pins, to toothbrushes to dust. Yes, dust.
2. Main Street Museum - 58 Bridge Street, White River Junction, Hartford
This small museum is full of weird displays, rotating art installations, drawers to open, and about a million other things to poke through. They even have an open mic night on the first Wednesday of the month and the performances are great!
3. American Museum of Fly Fishing - 4070 Main StManchester
Here you'll find an interesting history of fly fishing as well as artifacts, art, and literature of the sport. If you enjoy fishing, you'll love this museum!
Would you be able to stand still if you just caught this fish? Probably not!
4. Snowflake Bentley Museum - 4 A Red Mill Drive, Jericho
Here you'll find a collection of "Snowflake" Bentley's work. He is known as the man who proved that no two snowflakes are identical. This self educated farmer adapted a microscope to a bellows camera, and after years of trial and error, he became the first person to photograph a single snow crystal in 1885.
5. Dollhouse and Toy Museum of Vermont - 212 Union Street, Bennington
You can get up close and check out these miniature displays here that will take you back to your own childhood. Whimsical and fun!
6. New England Maple Museum - 4578 US Route 7, Pittsford
Vermonters love their maple syrup so much that there is even a museum dedicated to it! Here you'll find antique sugaring artifacts as well as specialty foods and gifts.
7. Skip Morrow and The Art of Humor Gallery - 30 Not A Road, Wilmington
Part gallery, part museum, this funny place lives up to its rave reviews. Skip Morrow is the artist/owner with a GREAT sense of humor. Get ready for a laugh!
8. American Precision Museum - 196 Main Street, Windsor
This is one place that will surely get your gears turning. Explore the fascinating history of mechanical arts in an old 1846 armory. This museum has the the largest collection of historically significant machine tools in the nation.
9. Bread and Puppet Theater - 753 Heights Road, Glover
This giant puppet museum is simply unlike anything you've ever seen before. Get ready to be amazed, fascinated, entertained, and maybe a little scared.
