The Northshire Bookstore in Manchester occupies 10,000 square feet spread over three stories and it is truly like something from a very good dream.
The bookstore first opened its doors in 1976 in a different location. After much success and a need for more space, the family owned and operated business moved to its current and much larger location in 2003.
Enter the doors and it's hard to know where to begin, the selection of books seems to go on for miles.
Each nook and cranny is filled with books, music, media, and unique gifts. Dive in and start exploring.
Wander through the first floor where you'll find cookbooks, mysteries, nature books, travel stories, and more. The lower level also houses a good selection of used books for the bargain hunter in all of us.
Don't worry if you get lost in this huge bookstore, there are plenty of friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist you.
Head upstairs to the second floor where loads of your favorite fiction and poetry titles await.

Exploring this bookstore can take hours and you might work up an appetite. Luckily the Spiral Press Cafe is attached to the Northshire Bookstore and offers plenty of food and drink to keep your tummy from rumbling.
The Spiral Press Cafe offers a delicious selection of coffee, breakfast, lunch, and desserts crafted from fresh and local ingredients.
Just like the bookstore is full of titles that will tempt your mind, the cafe menu is full of sandwiches that will tempt your taste buds.
The paninis, wraps, and specialty sandwiches are full of flavor that could satisfy any foodies. The kids will enjoy 3 Blind Mice (the best mac & cheese) or the Curious George (a yummy grilled cheese).
Visit Northshire Bookstore Sunday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Friday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Keep an eye open for special events such as book signings taking place at the store.
