The best fall festivals in Vermont show off one of the most glorious seasons in New England. Along with being the prime time of year to experience the gorgeous leaves, the annual Stowe Foliage Art Festival takes place during this season.
This year marks the 41st Annual Stowe Foliage Arts Festival. Guests are treated to live craft demonstrations, numerous craft stalls, and the most delicious seasonal treats all wrapped with love in a stunning backdrop. The 2024 event takes place from Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13. When you plan to go leaf-peeping in Vermont this year, make time around this annual festival.
For years, the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival has been taking place at Topnotch Field in Stowe.
This interactive event includes several talented exhibitors giving live demonstrations of their inspiring craftsmanship.
Presentations range from woodworking to pottery, glass, painting, and jewelry design.
Plan to spend at least a few hours exploring the grounds and checking out the exhibits at this lovely fall festival in Stowe, VT.
Folks can meet the artists and ask questions about their work. It's the best market for purchasing holiday gifts or bringing home something for yourself.
And you can see the finished products as more than 150 artists and crafters offer their creations from tent to tent.
And some of the exhibits become art, such as the generously donated llama wool in this elegantly crafted cape.
In addition, the festival food from local businesses is why we attend.
Years passed brought out warm soups, wood-fired pizzas, gyros, fajitas, and Japanese cuisine. How about an apple cider slushee to wash down some Vermont maple cotton candy?
Local, domestic, and craft-brewed beer and wine are also offered with plenty of places to sit and take in the vivid colors.
Or gather inside the huge dining tent to watch live performers on the stage.
The concerts feature local or regional bands every day that come with the price of admission. So bring your dancing shoes and whirl around 'til your heart's content!
After you've spent time at the festival, head to downtown Stowe to explore this quaint New England town.
As you can see, there are plenty of things to do in Vermont in the fall.
