Vermonters are proud people, and boy do we love to celebrate our independence when it comes to the 4th of July! We go all out with live music, games, parades, vendors, and naturally we end them with amazing firework shows. There is no place like Vermont when it comes to the 4th celebrations - here are 10 shows that are worth seeing this year. Who's ready for some BBQ and fun with friends this 4th? 1. Fourth of July 2016 at Warren and Sugarbush - Warren

Start your day on the 4th with everyone in the Mad River Valley gathering for one of the most awesome Independence Day celebrations in Vermont. The 10am parade kicks off the festivities followed by live music including the Grippo Funk Band & special guests at the Warren Store porch for the big street dance and Mad Mountain Scramblers at Brooks Field (elementary school), a short walk from the village on the Mad River Path. You just know the fireworks show which starts at dusk from the Sugarbush Resort will be amazing!

2. An Old Fashioned Fourth of July, Stowe

From the Moscow parade, a days worth of activities including food, music entertainers and more, and ending with Stowe's incredible annual fireworks display, July 4th is a great day to spend in Stowe. See for yourself!

3. July 3 & 4th Celebration - Bristol

Kick off the festivities on July 3rd at the ballpark with food and craft vendors, games, raffle tickets and great live music followed by fireworks. The 4th has a road race, an outhouse race (seriously!) and the oldest continuously run parade in the State of Vermont! Interesting fact: The July 4 parade in Bristol is the the oldest annual parade in the United States.. But that one is in Bristol, RI.

4. Montpelier Independence Day Celebration 2016 - Montpelier

With the State House Lawn as a backdrop, the July 4th festival-goers will enjoy a day packed with family activities, a great parade, more than 35 food and craft vendors, live music, dance performances, and, of course, fireworks!

5. Bakersfield Independence Day Celebration 2016 - Bakersfield

This fun filled day will be held on July 2 rain or shine and will start at noon with a parade and chicken barbecue and ends with an air show at 7 p.m and fireworks at dusk. Other activities include a book sale, fun run, local music, cow plop contest, silent auctions, horseshoe tournament, and a full afternoon of family activities.

6. Fireworks and More at Q Burke Mountain - East Burke

Head to Burke Mountain on July 3 for music, food, and fun for the kids including a bounce house, coloring contest, and a children’s bike park. Be sure to stay for the spectacular fireworks display!

7. Burlington’s July 3rd Independence Day Celebration 2016 - Burlington

There is fun for the whole family at the Burlington Waterfront on July 3. You'll love celebrating Independence Day with fun activities before the bombs start bursting in air! Waterfront Park, 10 College Street Burlington, VT.

Perkins Pier: Root 7, 5-7 p.m.; Mango Jam, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Waterfront Park: Sambatucada!, 7-8 p.m. Also: bounce house and face painting.

Boathouse: Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band, 8-9:30 and 10-11 p.m.; Dan Marcotte Biplane Airshow, 8:30-8:45, over the harbor

Battery Park: Burlington Concert Band, 6-9 p.m.

North Beach: Eagle Country 97.5, broadcasting 5-9 p.m.

Fireworks Spectacular, 9-10 p.m.

Recommended parking: UVM’s Gutterson parking garage and adjacent lots provide the fastest way in and out Burlington after the fireworks. Buses will run from 3:45 pm to 11:30 p.m., with pick up at Patrick Gym.

8. 40th Army Band Vermont National Guard Concert Band performance - Jeffersonville

See Vermont’s 40th Army Band perform at Smugglers’ Notch on July 4th as part of the Jeffersonville celebration. The finale will feature Tchaikovsky’s "1812 Overture," followed by a fireworks display.
