There is so much to love about fall festivals in Vermont. With the fall foliage electrifying the landscape, what better way to embrace the season than by celebrating at a festival? These 14 festivals have everything from food to music to wool to... Steampunk? Check out these awesome and unique festivals happening this fall.
1. Vermont Wine & Harvest Festival - Mount Snow
You'll find great wine, food, and fall foliage at this event the Vermont Chamber of Commerce named one of its Top 10 fall events. Check the Vermont Wine & Harvest Festival website for dates and information.
2. Grace Potter's Grand Point North
Head on over to the Burlington Waterfront Park to check out the Grand Point North music festival that will keep you moving and grooving.
3. Chester Fall Festival
The Chester Fall Festival is so awesome it needs TWO days. You’ll find affordable crafts and many delicious food vendors. There is also great antique and collectibles spread on the lawn in front of the church with some great finds every year, and the nearby old graveyard is interesting to check out, too.
4. Springfield Vermont Steampunk Festival
It's not every day you hear about a Steampunk Festival. You’ll find 3 days of trader’s bazaars, bicycle rides & picnics, walking history tours, candlepin bowling tournaments, absinthe tasting, and much more. Spend a few days in yesteryear! The Springfield Vermont Steam Punk Festival has been on hold for the last few years, so check their Facebook page for updates and many cool photographs.
5. Burke Foliage Festival
This is the Burke area's biggest festival of the year and it is always on the last Saturday in September. The annual Fall Foliage Festival located in East Burke Village on the green at the Burke Mountain Clubhouse/East Burke Library is all-day fun for the whole family. Parade, live music, cow plop bingo, and much more!
6. The Peru Fair
The Peru Fair is an old-fashioned country fair with attractions fit for the whole family. Held each year in the beautiful town of Peru, this fair has been rated among the top country fairs in the state and is not to be missed!
7. Bristol Harvest Fest
Head over to the Bristol Town Green and enjoy the annual Bristol Harvest Festival! LIVE music all day, great food,
handcrafters, a 5K Harvest Hustle, pony rides, and more. Enter the best ever apple Pie Contest for a $50 cash prize or the Pie Eating contest. Take a hay ride to the Fire Station Open House! There is so much to see and do so plan to stay through the whole event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
8. Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival, Stowe
Nothing says autumn quite like... Pumpkin chucking? Loads of people gather at the Stowe for the Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival to see the contraptions and action at this fun, annual event.
9. 19th Century Apple & Cheese Harvest Festival, Strafford
Celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday by making your own cider in an antique press and tasting a variety of heirloom apples, fine Vermont Artisan Cheeses, Vermont ice cream, and homemade apple pie. You'll love the 19th Century Apple & Cheese Harvest Festival at the Justin Morrill State Historic Site.
10. Manchester Fall Art & Crafts Festival
You'll find loads of Vermont-made food, crafts, and more in this quaint and picturesque place. This is traditionally held on the first Saturday in October.
11. Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival
One of the coziest festivals around, the Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival has over 70 vendors, knitting, spinning & dyeing workshops. You can also find sheep shearing and dog herding demos, shepherd workshops, contests, local food and music.
12. Billings Farm Harvest Celebration, Woodstock
The classic Harvest Celebration is held at peak foliage at the stunning Billings Farm in Woodstock. Press your own apples, go pumpkin bowling and much more at this festival chock full of hands on activities and tastings.
13. Stowe Foliage Arts Festival
Who can say no to a festival with a Vermont Beer, Cheese, and Sausage tent? Stowe is spectacular in the fall, so check out all the artisans and specialty locations in a beautiful setting during peak foliage.
