With our beautiful snowcapped mountains, Vermont naturally has a way of feeling like the North Pole during the winter. And this December, you can take a magical Elf Express train ride through it all to get in the Christmas spirit!
If you have children that are dying to meet Santa, then you'll want to head to Manchester, Vermont on December 21st or 22nd to see what they have in store.
Every year, the Manchester Vermont Lions Club runs the "Elf Express."
Riders get to embark on a one-hour enchanting journey through the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont.
Before hopping aboard the train, riders must purchase tickets in advance.
Tickets for the train cost $25 for adults, $20 for children ages 2-12, and nothing for those under the age of 2.
All throughout the ride, you'll be entertained by some pretty festive elves.
All of the elves are a part of the theater and dance program, Burr and Burton Academy, so you know it'll be a good show!
Usually, Santa gets all the attention, but this ride is all about the elves.
But that doesn't mean the jolly ol' man won't make a visit.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will come through the aisles to greet riders. Tell the kids to bring their wish lists, because Santa is known to give each child a gift.
In addition to entertainment, your ticket also includes refreshments.
Elves and conductors will come through with snacks and drinks as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
For Christmas cheer, take a ride on the Elf Express.
This year, the Elf Express will run December 21st and December 22nd. Don't forget to purchase your tickets in advance before they sell out.
