If you love chocolate, then you're surely in heaven in the Beehive State. With several incredible chocolatiers around Utah, you're certain to get your fill of homemade caramels, hand-dipped chocolates, and delicious fudge. While most chocolate shops don't allow customers to get a look at their production, Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates and Ice Cream does! Take a look, then plan to tour this place yourself:
Mrs. Cavanaugh's is located at 835 S N. Pointe Cir., North Salt Lake, UT 84054. This location has the chocolate maker's huge factory, offices and a retail store; you'll find several other retail locations around the state.
The chocolate company got its start in South Dakota, when Marie Cavanaugh made a bunch of pecan rolls for a church fundraiser. They were so good that people begged her to open a business. She did, and the rest is history.
There's always something decadent being created here, and the sweet, sweet smells of sugar greet you at the door.
You can visit Mrs. Cavanaugh's North Salt Lake location to take a tour of the chocolate-making facility.
Watch as chocolatiers create confections right before your eyes! Tours are offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and take about 45 minutes to complete. You'll pay just $1 for the tour.
The best part about this tour? You get to sample the chocolates!
