1. Explore the cosmos at Clark Planetarium.
With three floors of displays and hands-on exhibits, you'll have a blast exploring this outer-space museum. Catch a show at the Northrop Grumman IMAX, or go old-school in the Hansen Dome Theater - both are stunning. 110 S. 400 W., Salt Lake City, UT, 84101.
2. Grab a cup of joe and a good book at the Salt Lake City Library.
The shelves at the Salt Lake City Library are full of adventures waiting to be explored! This beautiful downtown space has more than just books - it's also home to a deli and coffee shop. 3. Enter a world of imaginary play at the St. George Children's Museum.
Here's a museum where kids are encouraged to touch everything! You'll want to spend all day long exploring the 12 exhibit rooms, where you'll find all kinds of play spaces. 4. Go surfing at Flowrider.

5. Walk amongst giants at the Museum of Ancient Life.
If someone in your family loves dinosaurs, you simply must visit the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. This place has one of the world's largest display of dinosaurs, with more than 60 mounted skeletons to see. You can have some hands-on fun at the erosion table and quarry dig. 2929 N. 6. Get cosmic at this Olympic venue.
The Utah Olympic Oval was the site of speed-skating records during the 2002 Olympics, and it's been entertaining Utahns ever since. Hang out for an open skate session, or lace up your skates for cosmic skating. 7. Race to win at K1 Speed's indoor go-kart track.
Buckle up and race around the indoor go-kart track at K1 Speed in Salt Lake City. 8. Take a dip at the Provo Recreation Center Indoor Pool.
Many of Utah's county and city recreation centers have great indoor pools that are perfect for splashing and playing on a cold winter day, but Provo's Recreation Center indoor pool is one of the best in the Beehive State. 9. Let your pup do some laps at Barley's Canine Recreation Center.

10. Have some high-flying fun at Get Air Trampoline Park.
Trampoline parks are the perfect spots to play on a cold, winter day. Practice your backflips, launch yourself into a pit filled with foam blocks, play some air hoops, and just generally have a blast. 11. Venture under the sea at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium.
You'll want to spend an entire afternoon at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper, where you'll see more than 4,000 animals from countries all over the world.
