These 19 Utah schools are said to be haunted, which might make some students even more afraid of Algebra class. Or, perhaps Utah’s students have imaginative minds. Whether these stories of hauntings are true or not, the most terrifying thing about The Beehive State schools is our last-place ranking when it comes to education funding. Nevertheless, here are 19 haunted schools in Utah!

1. Brigham Young University, Provo

Students report hearing a moaning sound from the reading room in the library's music section, which also often experiences extreme warm or cold temperatures. One of the creepiest schools in the state.

2. Cyprus High School, Magna

Allegedly, the auditorium in this school is haunted. People have seen a man dressed in clothes from the 1930s. Seeing a ghost roaming the halls makes this one haunted high school in Utah you might want to avoid...

3. East High School, Salt Lake City

Students in the drama department report seeing ghosts! You might say these kids are a tad bit dramatic but would you risk hanging out in the auditorium at night, all alone?

4. Highland Junior High School, Ogden

The girls’ bathroom in H Hall is said to be haunted by a little girl who’s seen in the mirror. The video production room has another ghost, who will reportedly grab your ankles if you lock the door and stay alone.

5. Kearns Junior High, Kearns

A family consisting of parents, two girls, and a boy is said to appear at the top of a stairway at Kearns Junior High. One ghost can be creepy enough but a whole family?! No thanks.

6. Holt Elementary School, Clearfield

The ghost of a young boy who drowned in a nearby pond is often seen by students, teachers, and visitors. The boy leaves puddles of water or wet footprints on the back steps of the school.

7. Lehi High School, Lehi

Teachers report hearing students running and talking in the halls at night while no one else is around. Some feel like they’re being watched, or that someone is breathing on their necks. Spooky.

8. North Summit Middle School, Coalville

A ghostly man is often spotted in the arts and crafts kiln room of the middle school.

9. North Summit High School, Coalville

Right across the street from the middle school, North Summit High has a ghost or two of its own. Students and staff often hear voices in the pool area and see phantoms roaming the halls.

10. Pleasant Grove High School, Pleasant Grove

The ghost at this high school is said to remove padlocks from a door under the stage in the auditorium, leaving the door wide open.

11. Roy High School, Roy

This high school is allegedly haunted by a female ghost who plays pranks in the auditorium. She moves props, turns lights on, and off and occasionally appears. Two other ghosts inhabit the auditorium and sometimes appear; a fourth ghost roams the halls. What a creepy high school.

12. Roy Junior High School, Roy

Some say that a boy once died from an accident with a power saw in the woodshop; students report that the saw turns itself on and that they can hear faint screams. Other students report the cries of a baby in the auditorium.

13. Southern Utah University, Cedar City

Students report seeing a woman wandering around on the third floor of Old Main. People don’t like to be in the building after dark; the lights often turn off and on by themselves, and students have been trapped in the elevators. 14. Spanish Fork High School, Spanish Fork

A former custodian reportedly haunts this high school; the curtain in the Little Auditorium will rise and fall, music plays and stage lights turn themselves on and off.

15. Uintah High School, Vernal

This high school’s auditorium is also said to be haunted. The ghost plays pranks on students, hanging costumes from the curtain tracks, turning lights off, and even pushing a casket off the stage during a production of Dracula. That’s a haunted school in our books!

16. Viewmont High School, Bountiful

Ted Bundy kidnapped a student from this school back in the 1970s. Students report seeing the student, Bundy, and his distinctive yellow VW Bug. One of the most famous schools in Utah!

17. Weber State University, Ogden

A ghost hunting group stated that they saw ghostly lights in the Student Senate room on campus where a gunman was shot and killed by police in 1993. Just another reason why Ogden is the most hunted city in Utah.

18. West High School, Salt Lake City

Students report seeing ghosts all over this old school. A ghost in a basketball uniform is reported in the gym; other ghosts roam the halls. Spirits have been seen in classrooms, the weight room, and the boys’ locker room.

That makes it a haunted high school in our book!

19. Westminster College, Salt Lake City

In Hogle Hall, the ghost of a little boy sits behind the water fountain and giggles when students pass by. The third and first floor bathrooms are supposedly haunted as well. Definitely one of the creepiest of Utah haunted places!
