Most people look forward to Halloween for months before the holiday, so with it just around the corner, we thought we would highlight some of the top spots for a good scare this Halloween. We have covered the most haunted places in Texas before, but found a few more places worthy of making the list. Check them out, if you dare...

1) 13th Floor Haunted House (San Antonio)

This terrifying haunted house offers two attractions for the price of one, which means double the scares and frights! It has been featured by the Travel Channel, Huffington Post, and USATODAY.com. General admission tickets are $24.99, fast pass tickets are $34.99, and immediate access tickets are $44.99. Check their website for hours and days of operation.

2) Thrillvania Haunted House Park (Terrell)

3 petrifying haunted houses, 50 terrifying acres, all for the price of $29.95 for adults and $14.95 for children under 10. Check their website for days and hours of operation.

3) Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus (Grand Prairie)

I recently went to this haunted attraction with my sister, and I have to say, it was one of the scariest haunted houses I have ever been to! The scenes, actors, and special effects here are beyond amazing, and you definitely get your money's worth! It took about an hour to get through it, and it costs $29.95 for general admission. It was voted THE scariest haunted attraction in the world in 2013, so be warned!

4) The Haunted Hotel (Beaumont)

Rated one of the best and scariest haunted houses in Texas by HauntWorld magazine, they are also one of the longest continuously running haunted attractions in the country, with this year being their 34th year of operation. This coming weekend is your last chance to check them out for their regular operating hours, so definitely stop by for a night you will never forget!

5) The Old City Cemetery (Galveston)

Many people who have been here have reported strange sightings and feelings, likely due to the number of people buried here who perished in the Great Hurricane of 1900. Haunted tours are even available due to the overwhelming reports of paranormal activity here.

6) Baker Hotel (Mineral Wells)

Two spirits are said to haunt this hotel: one of a bloody nude woman on the seventh floor who supposedly had an affair with the hotel manager, and another of a man who had died after getting caught in an elevator door. This is one of the most haunted hotels in Texas, and was even featured on the popular show "Ghost Adventures." The hotel has plans to reopen soon, so you might just get to witness some of these disturbing ghostly spirits for yourself.

7) Jefferson Hotel (Jefferson)

Also one of the most haunted hotels in Texas, Jefferson is also one of the most haunted cities in the state. At this hotel in particular, the spirits are known to cause quite a scene. Phones ringing off the hook with no one on the other end, loud knocking on the walls, footsteps pounding down the hallways, objects thrown at the guests, maniacal laughter, and other frightening occurrences await you here.

8) Hotel Galvez (Galveston)

Haunted primarily by a spirit known as "The Lovelorn Lady," she wanders throughout the fifth floor of this hotel, forever locked inside after hanging herself due to the heartbreaking news of her husband's passing at sea.

9) Menger Hotel (San Antonio)

William Menger first opened this hotel in 1859, and since then, it has been haunted by a startling 32 different entities, including the ghost of Teddy Roosevelt who once spent the night here. The Alamo is right next door to this property, which might explain the high level of paranormal activity.

10) Presidio La Bahia (Goliad)

Since the Battle of Goliad and the Goliad Massacre both took place here during the Texas Revolution, you will inevitably find many angry, vengeful, hurting spirits still occupying the land. Many who have visited report hearing cries of pain during the night and even seeing apparitions of soldiers.

11) Bragg Road (Saratoga)

Everybody in East Texas knows about this famous legend - it goes like this: on most nights, you can see a light flicker on and off in the distance when you drive down this old logging road. It's said to be the lantern of a railroad worker searching for his head after being decapitated in a train accident. He now searches endlessly for his head, giving passersby a reason to sleep with one eye open at night...

12) Donkey Lady Bridge (San Antonio)

According to the legend, the woman who haunts this road was badly burned and disfigured in a house fire, and began to haunt the woods near the bridge. She lost two of her children in the fire, which drove her to a state of insanity and rage. The most popular story surrounding the donkey lady is one about a father and his two sons setting up camp near the bridge. They heard repeated rustling in the woods, so the father told his two boys to head to the car, as he was concerned about a predator hiding in the woods. He made it back to the car shortly after, and started to drive off. Suddenly, a deformed, terribly ugly creature sailed through the air onto the windshield, shattering it into a million pieces. The man revved the engine and raced down the road to the police station, where he described a figure that resembled a cross between a woman and a donkey.

13) Sarah Jane Road (Port Neches)

This creepy road near the Neches River has an interesting, yet tragic tale behind it. Most renditions of the story say that Sarah Jane was walking along the bridge one evening when she accidentally dropper her baby in the canal. She tried to save it, but it drowned. Then, distraught over the loss of her baby, she hung herself in a nearby tree. Another story says she deliberately drowned her baby, but either way, she haunts the banks of the canal, forever searching for her baby.
