Fall hasn't even officially arrived yet, but one Fort Worth haunted house is already preparing for Halloween. Cutting Edge holds the Guinness World Record for the world's largest walk-through haunted house, and it's right here in Texas.
Since opening in 1991, Cutting Edge has received countless awards and been featured on several TV shows. Among its accolades are a Top 13 ranking for scariest haunted house by HauntWorld.com, and the Guinness World Records for "World's Largest Haunted Attraction" and "World's Largest Walk Through Haunted House."
Due to the attraction's immense popularity, you'll likely be waiting in line for a while. In an effort to keep everyone entertained, Cutting Edge features an undead drumline with beats unlike anything this world has ever seen.
Try not to look down, or you just might be in for a terrifying surprise. With tattered clothing and piercing white eyes, the drum major puts on a freakishly sinister show before playing a single note.
All throughout the house, talented actors wait in silence for unsuspecting visitors to pass by. Seemingly out of nowhere, they'll emerge from the darkness and leave you trembling down to the bone.
No haunted house is complete without a few jump scares, and Cutting Edge certainly delivers in that regard. Get ready for heart-stopping encounters with creatures more gruesomely grotesque than anything you've ever seen before.
Just when it appears you're out of the woods, a chainsaw puts an abrupt end to the heavy, almost uncannily eerie silence. As it whirs to life, you'll be running to the nearest exit as fast as your legs can carry you.
Address: 1701 East Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Opening night is Saturday, September 28, and hours will be 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The schedule varies week-to-week during October, so reference Cutting Edge's website for details.
