As if there wasn't already enough to do in Austin, this is an awesome attraction you absolutely can't pass up this summer. Lone Star Riverboat offers cruises down Lady Bird Lake that showcase some of the best parts of our capital city, from the beautiful skyline to the emergence of millions of Mexican Free-Tailed bats at dusk. You'll have the time of your life and plenty of memories to cherish forever.
Every Saturday and Sunday, there's a 3 PM cruise that lets you take in all the picturesque sights of Lady Bird Lake.
There's also a weekly moonlight cruise at 10:30 PM on Friday nights. If you've never seen the Austin skyline illuminating the darkness, there really is nothing like it.
The crowd favorite seems to be the Bat Tour, which takes place every night at dusk. You won't get more up-close-and-personal with the nation's largest urban bat colony than this.
Seeing over 1.5 million of the majestic creatures emerge from underneath the bridge is truly spectacular.
There are also specialty holiday tours for Valentine's Day, 4th of July, and New Year's Eve! Watching fireworks pop over lake or taking a nighttime ride with someone special is a magical experience you'll never forget.
You can even rent out an entire boat for a party or get-together! Full catering, including appetizers, dinner, bar service, and all necessary utensils, is offered. More information on that can be found here.
The moonlight and bat cruises take place on the two smaller boats, the Little Star and Southern Star, while the daily sightseeing tours take place on the main boat, the Lone Star.
All tours take about an hour, and it's recommended that you make reservations ahead of time and arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to departure.
So if you want to experience Austin like never before, look no further than Lone Star Riverboat! You'll leave with an entirely new appreciation for our capitol city.
