Pickles are one of the most controversial foods in existence: people either love or hate them, without much grey area in between. If you fall into the former category, there's a can't-miss festival coming up on September 7 in Kingwood. It's a full day of pickle-themed antics, including jelly, beer, and even cupcakes. Get ready to pucker up!
On September 7, Houston's first-ever pickle festival will turn the town sour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will take place at Kingwood Town Center Park, and admission is totally free.
Sample pickle-infused food and beverages all day long, like this fresh bakery bread from Sweet Rustic Treats. Enveloped in warm, fluffy dough, the pickles add a nice zing that perfectly balances out all the flavors.
How does a thick smear of Pickle Jelly on your morning toast sound? This unique spread will be available in Jalapeno flavor as well, and it'll be your new favorite condiment after just one taste.
In A Pickle isn't limited to just food; there will also be plenty of adult beverages that pack a lip-puckering punch. Ingenious Brewing Company created this beer specifically for the festival, so it's a must-try!

Even your pups can enjoy the festivities! Deck them out from head to toe in themed attire for the Pickled Pet Parade that kicks off at 11 a.m. Everyone receives a prize, and plenty of water will be provided.
Don't leave without taking home a few jars as souvenirs of sorts. In addition to regular pickles, you'll see ingredients like okra, carrots, and even garlic + onions. Lunchtime sandwiches just got a whole lot more interesting!
