Ah, good old Blue Bell. We were raised on it, we raised our kids on it, and they'll raise theirs on it. We refuse to settle for any other ice cream brand because none of them even hold a candle to the rich, creamy taste of Blue Bell. So why haven't most of us taken the time to visit the factory where the magic happens? It's located in Brenham, and you'll get to not only learn about the history of the company, but also sample tons of delicious ice cream (including exclusive flavors that aren't sold in stores!). So, what are you waiting for?
I think we can all agree the the Blue Bell Famine of 2015 was the worst few months of our lives, so why not celebrate its end with a trip to the factory itself?
While tours haven't been available since the recall, you can still roam around the building yourself and look at historical pictures, see an old-fashioned delivery truck, and head next door to the ice cream shop to enjoy a delicious treat.
This is one of the old delivery trucks. Isn't it adorable?
You'll learn a lot of neat things about our favorite ice cream brand while you're here.
For example, did you know the amount of milk used DAILY is equivalent to that of 60,000 cows?
Wearing a classic Blue Bell hat while you explore the factory is obligatory.
You'll get to sample unique flavors that aren't easily found in stores.
This one is cinnamon ice cream with KING CAKE PIECES, sprinkles, and a vanilla icing swirl. *drool*
This is the ice cream parlor. Takes you back to old times, doesn't it?
Plus, the scoops are only $1 each! And the portions are extremely generous.
Each of these cups is one scoop. Yeah, I'm being serious.
There are plenty of cute photo ops for the kids!
There's even a gift shop so you can represent Blue Bell wherever you go.
All in all, a day spent at the Blue Bell factory is a day spent in heaven. (Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is what heaven looks like.)
Wait...that's more like it.
Yum. I need to hurry up and get out here before summer is over. Have you ever toured the Blue Bell factory? What's your favorite memory from your experience?
