As the weather cools off and the breeze kicks in, everyone in Austin goes outdoors. There's no better way to celebrate the reprieve from triple digit temperatures than with a Fall festival. From September to December, pumpkins, artwork, and craft beer surround the city. Hardly a week goes by without a major event, and you won't find festivals like these anywhere else.
1. Springdale Harvest Fest
Foodies all over Austin flock to Springdale Farm's vegetable stand every week, but once a year Springdale hosts an event like none other. The Springdale Harvest Fest will pop up on Sunday, October 16th and will feature fresh dishes, fine wine, and family fun.
2. Round Rock Chalk Walk
The Round Rock Chalk Walk draws over 35,000 people and keeps growing every year. On Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st, the sidewalks along Centennial Plaza will sparkle with color and creativity. Artists all over the area come to show off their skills and vie for the $1,000 grand prize.
3. East Austin Studio Tour
Twice a year, Big Medium hosts a large-scale art tour located in neighborhoods across the city. The East Studio Tour occurs every November for two weekends and features some of the most imaginative pieces from Austin's local artists.
4. Paella Lovers United's Annual Spanish Culinary Festival
Going strong for 14 years, The Spanish Culinary Festival has been igniting tastebuds and introducing newcomers to the joys of paella. Festivalgoers can enjoy all types of Spanish cuisine, but the star of the fest is the paella cookoff. Full of seafood, savory rice, and fresh vegetables, the dishes in this culinary battle will keep you satisfied all day long.
5. Austoberfest
Come on down to the oldest restaurant in Texas for some German-style sausages and beer. Scholz Garten hosts Austoberfest every October and Austinites look forward to it all year long.
6. Hutto Old Tyme Days
Full of pony rides and petting zoos, Hutto Old Tyme Days brings the whole family together. Complete with street dances and beauty pageants, this nostalgic festival feels just like the good old days.
7. Texas Craft Brewers Festival

8. Pecan Street Festival
The Pecan Street Festival swirls through downtown Austin twice a year, but the one in the Fall surges with excitement. One weekend before the ACL Festival lights up Zilker Park, the Pecan Street Festival gears Austinites up for live music. Local vendors and scrumptious food trucks make their way through sixth street, and all of the fun and excitement is 100% free.
9. Cedar Park FUMC Pumpkin Patch and Family Fun Fest
Just before Halloween, Cedar Park First United Methodist Church throws an epic Autumn shindig for the whole community. Complete with a craft show, kid's activities, and sugary desserts, this event is the quintessential Fall festival.
10. Pflugerville Pfall Chili Pfest
In Pflugerville, October 15th is dedicated to nothing but soul-satisfying chili. Cook-off teams assemble weeks in advance to practice and perfect their recipe. Live music, a car show, and craft vendors will also come out and make this pfest one to remember.
