Summers in Tennessee are hot, humid, and downright sweaty. We're thankful the state is so beautiful, because otherwise it might be difficult to make it through the heat that descends from late spring through to early autumn. If you're located in Jonesborough, Tennessee, then we'd highly recommend beating the heat with a trip to one of the neatest aqua parks in the Volunteer State: Wetlands Water Park. Learn all about it below and plan a trip for yourself!
Wetlands Water Park is located in Jonesborough, Tennessee, and is perhaps best known for its outdoor lazy river and lightning fast flume sides. The family-friendly water park is both affordable and fun, making it a Volunteer State staple come the warmer seasons.
The waterpark itself is operated by the city of Jonesborough which means ticket prices are low and remain affordable throughout the season. Adults can visit for $12, and children can visit for $9.
The waterpark is located within Persimmon Ridge Park itself, which in turn is connected to the city's historic district via the Lost State Scenic Walkway. The leafy park is 130-acres in total.
At the Wetlands Water Park you'll find everything from water bubblers to wading areas and tumble buckets. The kids are bound to love the rain tree, and there's both an 80-foot and 200-foot flume slide.
Looking to visit often? Then we'd recommend purchasing a season pass that will admit you to the park during all open hours and days. You can even inquire about hosting an after-hour private party for you and your guests.
If you get hungry you can purchase something scrumptious from the full-service, on-site cafe. There's a volleyball court, pavilion areas, picnic tables, and lounge chairs to round out your visit.
The Wetlands Water Park is the only public-owned water park in the entire state of Tennessee, and you don't want to miss it. You can visit for yourself during limited daylight hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
