The covered bridge is one of the few nods to the past that keep people's eyes glistening with a tear of nostalgia. We may not have Madison County in Tennessee, but we do have six pretty little places that are sure to get your mind bustling with dreams about the once-was. Take a look and these beautiful covered bridges in Tennessee.

1. Church St. Covered Bridge
The Church Street Covered Bridge crosses over Salt Lick Creek in Red Boiling Springs. You can still drive your car over this one! If you aren't nervous about the age-old floorboards, of course. You'll be fiiiiiiine.
2. Emerson E. Parks Farm Covered Bridge
The Parks Covered Bridge has been playing with complete destruction for decades, but it has been recently rebuilt for your viewing pleasure. It's one of the most beautiful sights in Tennessee.
The tiny town of Trimble might seem pretty much in the middle of nowhere but just a 35-minute drive will take you to another small town called Tiptonville which is a great little place to explore. It is also the gateway to the beautiful Reelfoot Lake State Park.
3. Harrisburg Covered Bridge
One of the few remaining covered bridges in Tennessee, the Harrisburg Bridge is widely photographed and enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

4. Elizabethton Covered Bridge
This pretty white bridge is the oldest in the state - built all the way back in 1882. There's also an Elizabethton Covered Bridge Celebration in the summertime!
While visiting Elizabethton Sycamore Shoals is a must-see. This historic park features a replica of an old settlement, a museum, and a lovely nature walk following the peaceful river.
5. David Crockett State Park Covered Bridge
Visit the David Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg to catch a glimpse at this covered bridge. It's one of the most enchanting places in Tennessee.

6. Bible Covered Bridge
The last on our list of covered bridges in Tennessee is the Bible Covered Bridge which was built in 1923. You can find this darling little spot in Greene County.
While you are in Greene County don't forget to visit the charming and historic town of Greeneville.
