Winter in Tennessee is a magical season. While the Volunteer State may not receive quite as much snowfall as other destinations throughout the U.S., we still know how to celebrate. For proof of this, look no further than Ober Gatlinburg, a fantastic ski resort that will delight you with its wintery charms. It's here that you'll find some of the very best snow tubing in Tennessee. Curious to learn more? Keep reading!
Ober Gatlinburg is known for its aerial tramway that runs from downtown Gatlinburg straight to the resort on the slopes above. But those slopes aren't just for skiing...
The snow tubing hill first opened in the 2008-2009 season and was immediately a huge success. Folks can hop on inflatable tubes and slide down the 400-foot hill.
Sessions on the tubing hill are 90-minutes each, and you can buy tickets in advance (which we definitely recommend if you want guaranteed access to the hill on a particular day).
Don't think that this hill is just for the easy-going. All tubers have to sign a waiver, and you must be at least 6 years old and 42" tall to ride solo. Kids as young as 3 can ride on an adult's lap.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be bought online at their website, at the resort, or at the tramway ticket booth in downtown Gatlinburg.
