When you think of tubing, what comes to mind? Let me guess: snow and cold, right? Welcome to Rushmore Tramway Adventures, which is arguably one of the most exciting attractions in all of the Black Hills.
If you've never gone tubing in South Dakota during the hotter months, you're in for a real treat!
Located in Keystone, Rushmore Tramway Adventures has been delighting the public since 1965 with its exciting rides, views, and colorful gardens.
If you haven't been to the Rushmore Tramway in the last 15 years, you are missing out, as they did an exciting renovation that you have to see to believe.
While you cannot go wrong with their aerial adventure park, jump tower, or 800-foot zip line...
... the most unique thing to do this summer may just be the tubing hill.
Opened in the summer of 2019, the South Dakota tubing hill is the first of its kind in the state.
It features four different lanes complete with different speeds and bumps. As advertised, the different lanes (think lanes kind of like those found at waterparks) allow for riders ages 2 to 104! The tubes reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour!
Pricing varies depending on how many times you plan to ride down the 450-foot-long slide.
Only one rider is permitted per tube. However, if you are enjoying this adventure with children, you can each zip down on tracks that are next to each other.
Rushmore Tramway Adventures is open on select days, weather-permitting, throughout the summer.
