A magical night of hope and togetherness is quickly approaching at the end of this month. On the afternoon and evening of June 29, 2019, thousands of people will gather to light up the water in a gorgeous illuminated display of personally decorated water lanterns that will be cast into a lake at dusk. Each beautifully decorated lantern will be aglow with a light to carry wishes, intentions, and messages of hope into the night. It's one of the most heartfelt and touching festivals ever.
If you've never attended a water lantern festival, then prepare for a night of laughter, love, and healing.
The afternoon begins with a festive atmosphere where attendees can enjoy live music, food trucks, and fun.
As the day progresses and nightfall approaches, each attendee will get a lantern to decorate with any message they would like to send out into the night.
The event promises to be a magical evening where you'll create lifetime memories. Late in the day you'll put your decorating skills to the task of transferring your intentions to the rice paper lantern.
At dusk, lanterns will be lit and simultaneously set upon the water to light up the night.
This may be one of the most beautiful festivals ever. (For those who worry about the environment — don't. The organizers work tirelessly after the event to make sure each lantern is retrieved.)
Thousands and thousands of intentions, hopes, and wishes will float beautifully away as a light breeze carries them into the lake.
The event is traditionally a time when friends, family, and even strangers come together for peace, happiness, and healing — both individually, and as a group.
Some may be wondering about the environment...
Part of the cost of each lantern is specifically set aside to make sure clean up efforts include retrieving each and every lantern after the event ends.
What will your special message be? Will it carry hope? A wish? A memory of a departed loved one?
And who will you bring along to celebrate this special moment??
The Water Lantern Festival takes place in just a few short weeks and tickets sell out quickly. (Location info below).
