The Palmetto State definitely knows how to brighten the holidays. With scores of drive-thru lights displays and walk-thru Christmas lights this year, there should never be a dull moment this December. If you're looking for things to do in the Grand Strand area (after shopping and dining, perhaps), then head over to The Great Christmas Light Show for some of the best Christmas lights in South Carolina. This fun holiday activity promises to be a jolly treat for the whole family.
Located over at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, this magnificent lights event features two million lights.
Pile everyone in the car, truck, SUV, or any other wheeled vehicle and head out for a jolly night of fun at this huge event.
Marvel at the twinkling landscape while passing through more than 1.5 miles of dazzling displays.
Bring popcorn and snacks... this is a great show!
More than 500 lighted displays standing as tall as 55 feet were custom made just for The Great Christmas Light Show.
It's the largest of its kind in the greater Myrtle Beach area, and by way of size almost rivals the nearby Festival of Lights in Charleston, one of the most popular Christmas light displays in South Carolina that has also garnered awards and accolades.
After making the journey through the lights in your vehicle, stop and peruse all of the festivities available at Santa's Village because, of course Santa has a village at Myrtle Beach!
(See the website link below for dates the Village will be open.)
Don't miss the show at Santa's Rockin' Christmas Tree.
It takes place every 30 minutes and is a sure-fire way to ramp up your holiday cheer.
While checking out the other attractions in Santa's Village (like Santa's Elf Hunt, the Candy Cane Scramble, Santa's Express Train, and more), be sure the kiddos have a chance to visit the petting zoo!
The little ones, especially, will get a kick out of petting the friendly animals found here.
And of course, visit with Santa and capture your own photos for this year's memory album.
