South Carolina has a festival for just about everything. I could name a list a mile long and probably still miss a few. However, there some that are a must see this year. And, I made it easy for you by compiling 15 of the best festivals and fairs. Just pick one and plan a day or a weekend. Go ahead and have some fun! That's what life is all about; having fun and making memories.

1. Spoleto USA- Held in Charleston, SC from May 22-June 7th. For 17 days and nights you can witness artistry at its finest. Music and performances fill the city for a true delight.

2. Sweet Grass Festival - Held in Mt. Pleasant on June 6, 2015. It may be a one day event, but my what they pack into that day. There is sweet grass basket making, Gullah Geechee skits, dancing, story-telling and so much more!

3. Iris Festival - Held in Sumter at Swan Lake. Come out and celebrate in the beauty and fun that abounds at this festival.

4. South Carolina Festival of Flowers - Held in Greenwood, SC from June 25-27. This festival gets bigger and bigger every year. It is a delight for gardening enthusiasts, but it has so much more. There are artists, car shows, foods from around the world, live music, and the list goes on...

5. SC Festival of Discovery - Held in Greenwood SC. There is blues and barbecue, what more could you ask for? It is a good time for the entire family!

6. SC Peach Festival - Held in Gaffney, SC. It's all about celebrating that beautiful fruit. Filled with tons of fun you couldn't find a better place to spend the day with the family.

7. Tasty Tomato Festival - Held in Columbia, SC on July 19th from 4-9 p.m. It's still just a bit small, but it is growing year after year. Dedicated to the beautiful heirloom tomatoes that local farmers grow here in South Carolina. It makes for a great afternoon and includes tomato dishes, tastings, a beer garden, and live music.

8. Sweet Tea Festival - Held in Summerville, SC the birthplace of sweet tea on September 15th. Head on down to the downtown Summerville and experience all they have to offer especially the different teas.

9. Greek Festival - Held in Columbia, SC from Sept. 17-20th. Ready for some really good food? What about the cultural dances as well as vendors? It is so much fun. The people are amazing, the colors are bright, and the food...Oh, the food!

10. Fall For Greenville - Held in Greenville, SC from October 9-11th. It's the largest food and music festival held in the Upstate. Let the food and music carry you away for an entire weekend.

11. Concours d'Elegance - Held in Hilton Head, SC from November 30-1st. Definitely a car lover's dream. From jaw-dropping vintage to two-wheeled machines and everything in between!

12. SC State Fair - Held in Columbia, SC. Who doesn't love a day at the fair? The sights, the sounds, the carnival fare. It's family fun to be sure!

13. SC Pecan Festival - Held in downtown Florence, SC on November 7, 2015. You will find some of the most beautiful and unique art at the vendor tables which there are tons of as well as music and dancing. There is also amusement rides and a kid zone for the little ones.

14. The Chitlin Strut Festival - Held in Salley, SC during the later part of November. This quiet little town puts on a big show! It's almost miraculous that they can hold so many there. They have live music, good food, and arts & craft vendors. Great fun for the whole family.

15. Dickens Christmas Show and Festival - Held in Myrtle Beach, SC from November 12-15th. This is the biggest Christmas festival in SC! There is so much to do including 100,000 sq. foot Victorian Holiday Marketplace. Anyone ready for Santa Claus?

Like I said, this is only a partial list, but a great start to having tons of fun in your own home state!
