If it has been a while since you enjoyed the spoils of South Carolina's northernmost amusement park, then perhaps it's time to set a day aside to explore all there is to see and do at Carowinds - including the miniature amusement park set within the 411-acre larger park. Formerly known as Planet Snoopy, the long-standing part of the park set aside just for little kids got a major facelift back in 2018 and is now called Camp Snoopy.
Generations of children from all over South and North Carolina grew up at Planet Snoopy riding the rides, enjoying the attractions, eating, shopping, and making lifelong memories.
Now, with six new rides, a new name, and a new look, Camp Snoopy is poised for a day of fun on amusement rides that are just their size. Little ones can hop on Snoopy vs The Red Baron and feel a bit immersed in the story line of America's favorite cartoon: Peanuts™.
And meeting the characters from Peanuts™ is a thrill kids and adults both enjoy.
Even though the facelift in 2018 brought six brand new rides to Camp Snoopy, many of the tried-and-true rides are still running. Grab the kiddos for a spin on Wilderness Run — a pint-sized roller coaster that introduces toddlers (parents can ride, too) to the wacky world of roller coasters, but on a smaller scale.
Camp Snoopy has a variety of attractions. In addition to the kid-sized rides, there are shows (featuring the characters from Peanuts™, of course), and the Camp Depot, where you can shop and dine.
If you're wondering about the height restrictions on the Camp Snoopy Rides, requirements vary per ride with the shortest height restricted rides coming in at a minimum rider height of 36 inches. Other rides require riders to be at least 40, 42, 46, and 48 inches. (See the full list of height requirements at this link.
Have you returned to explore Camp Snoopy at Carowinds since the major upgrade debuted last year? Maybe it's time...
