South Carolinians love to celebrate Independence Day. There's nothing like the present to list fireworks displays for the upcoming Fourth of July festivities. If you're wondering "where are the closest fireworks near me?" then we have you covered. In 2015, and again in 2016, we published a list of the best places to see fireworks in South Carolina. Well we're at it again, only for 2017 we've put together the most comprehensive list of all the July 4th fireworks displays that we could find in the Palmetto State - from big cities to small towns. Here's our list:
1. Red White and Blue - Greenville
The annual Wells Fargo Red, White & Blue presented by AT&T is an evening of spectacular fun for the whole family. The event takes place in downtown Greenville from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. It features live music on two stages, fun activities for the whole family and food vendors.
2. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum - Mount Pleasant
Billed as one of the most entertaining places for Independence Day fireworks, the flightdeck of the U.S.S. Yorktown in Mount Pleasant offers an historic venue and unique vantage point for viewing. Tickets are sold in advance and they sell out. But don't worry. This fireworks show is so spectacular you can see if from more than just the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. However, the advantages to having tickets include oodles of entertainment before, and during, the show.
3. Broadway at the Beach - Myrtle Beach
There's really so much to do at Broadway at the Beach! Fill your 4th visiting the attractions by day - and watching the Fireworks Extravaganza at night. The fireworks start at 10:00 p.m. on July 4.
4. Fireworks at Harbortown - Hilton Head Island
What an amazing "venue" for a fireworks show. Watch the fireworks light up Harbour Town Lighthouse and Calibogue Sound on Tuesday, July 4th from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Expect live music, food and lots of fun.
5. Red, White & Boom! - Rock Hill
Head over to Old Town for the Red, White & Boom Celebration on Tuesday, July 3rd. There will be loads of fun for the whole family, including mechanical rides, food trucks and more! The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m.
Abbeville County
- Calhoun Falls - Freedom Blast, July 1st. Held at Blue Hole Recreation on Lake Russell from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.
- Aiken - Fire Over Aiken, June 24th. The event is held at the Western Carolina State Fairgrounds from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.The fireworks begin after dark.
- Perry - Fireworks display, July 4th. The event is held at the park in the middle of town. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.
- Belton - Freedom Celebration, July 1st. The event is held in City Square from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Clemson - ClemsonFest, July 3rd. Held at Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center (old Y-Beach) from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Fee: $5 per person, or $10 per carload.
- Bamberg - July 4th Celebration, July 4th. The celebration takes place in the City of Bamberg starting at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks are at 9:00 p.m.
- Barnwell - Independence Day Celebration, July 1st. The event takes place at Veteran's Park in Barnwell; times are still pending announcement.
- Hilton Head Island - Fireworks at Harbortown, July 4th. The event is from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Fireworks begin sometime after dusk.
- Parris Island - Parris Island Independence Day Celebration, July 4th. Located at MCRD Parris Island Peatross Parade Deck. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Fireworks are at approximately 9:15 p.m.
- Port Royal - 4th of July Celebration, July 4th. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. at The Sands Beach. Fireworks start at 9:00 p.m.
- Goose Creek - Fabulous Fourth In The Creek, July 4th has been cancelled due to concerns about flooding. (updated 7/3/17 at 11:02 a.m.)
- Moncks Corner - 4th of July Street Dance & Fireworks, July 1st. The event is at the Regional Recreation Complex from 5:00 p.m to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks are at 9:45 p.m.
- St. Matthews - July 4th Celebration, July 4th. The event is located at Calhoun County Convalescent Center. Fireworks begin after sundown.
- Folly Beach - 4th of July Fireworks, July 4th. The event is from 8:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fireworks begin after sundown.
- Isle of Palms - 4th of July Fireworks, July 4th. The event is located on Front Beach from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Kiawah Island - Independence Day Festival, July 3rd. The festival is held at Night Heron Park from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.
- Mount Pleasant - 4th of July Fireworks Blast at Patriots Point, July 4th. This event is held at the Patriots Point Maritime Museum from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. You must purchase tickets in advance to attend.
- North Charleston - 4th of July Festival, July 4th. Located at Riverfront Park. Gates open at 3:00 p.m., fireworks are at 9:10 p.m. Expect to take a shuttle to the event. All parking is off-site.
- Blacksburg - July 4th Fireworks Celebration, July 4th. Located across the road from Hopewell Baptist Church. Festivities begin at 7:00 p.m.; fireworks start at 9:20 p.m.
- Gaffney - Community Fireworks Display, July 1st. Located at Lake Whelchel Pleasant School Road Entrance. Fireworks are from 9:00 p.m to 9:15 p.m.
- Chester - Red, White & Boom Celebration, June 30th. The event is located at Joe Collins Stadium starting at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m.
- Cheraw - Independence Day Celebration, July 3rd. Fireworks event is in downtown Cheraw from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.
- Manning - Red, White & Blue Celebration, July 3rd. Catch the fireworks event at the Red Barn in downtown Manning starting at 7:00 p.m.
- Darlington - FreedomFest, July 1st. The event is at Darlington Raceway from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Summerville - Red, White and Blue on the Green, July 4th. Location: Gahagan Park from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Georgetown - 4th of July Fireworks and Kaminski House Concert, Juy 4th. The event takes place on the lawn of the Kaminski House beginning at 7:00 p.m.
- Murrells Inlet - Fireworks on the Marshwalk, July 4th. The event will take place along the Marshwalk and starts at 10:00 p.m.
- Greenville - Wells Fargo Red, White & Blue presented by AT&T, July 4th. It takes place in downtown Greenville from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Greer - Freedom Blast, June 24th. The event is from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Greer City Park.
- Simpsonville - Free Concert & Fireworks, July 1st. The event features the Oak Ridge Boys and takes place at Heritage Park Amphitheater from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Slater-Marietta - Moon Boom, July 3rd. Held in the field across from the Rodeo Grounds at Beechwood Farms from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Ninety Six - Festival of the Stars, June 29th - July 1st. Fireworks are on July 1st in Ninety Six Town Park at 9:45 p.m.
- Conway - Conway Riverfest, July 1st. The event is at the Conway Riverwalk from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
- Myrtle Beach - Broadway at the Beach, July 4th. The fireworks start at 10:00 p.m.
- Myrtle Beach - Fireworks on the Boardwalk, July 4th. Fireworks at 10:00 p.m. Second Ave Pier but visible all the way to 15 Avenue North.
- Myrtle Beach - Independence Day Celebration, July 4th. Celebrate the 4th at TicketReturn.com Field as the MB Pelicans take on the Buies Creek Astros. Gametime is 7:05 p.m. Fireworks immediately after the game. There is a fee associated with entry to this game.
- North Myrtle Beach - Barefoot Landing, July 4th. Fireworks are over the lake at 9:30 p.m.
- Surfside Beach - Cancelled. The annual fireworks show at the Surfside Beach Pier has been cancelled this year due to damage the pier sustained during Hurricane Matthew.
- North Myrtle Beach - Cherry Grove Pier Fireworks, July 4th. Watch from the beach! The event starts at 9:00 p.m.
- Lake Wateree - Lake Wateree Association Annual Fireworks Show, July 4th. Island #8 near Clearwater Cove Marina. Times to be announced.
- Laurens - Riverfront Freedom Festival, July 3. The event is at the Little River Amphitheater starting at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks are just after dusk.
- Columbia - Star Spangled Symphonic Salute, July 3rd. The event begins at 8:00 p.m. at Saluda Shoals Park.
- Gilbert - Lexington County Peach Festival, July 4th. The fireworks event is at the field behind Gilbert Primary School. The Peach Festival is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Fireworks are at 10:00 p.m.
- Lake Murray - 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray, July 1st. Festivities begin at 12 noon and last until 10:00 p.m. Boat parade at 12:00 noon.
- Lexington - Blowfish Independence Day Fireworks, July 4th. Dog Days and Fireworks Display at the Blowfish take on the Florence Redwolves. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. with fireworks after. There's a fee associated with entrance to the game.

- Marion - Celebration of Heroes, July 1st. Held at the Swamp Fox Entertainment Complex from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Bennettsville - Fireworks Display and Celebration, July 1st. Fireworks event is at Lake Paul Wallace from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with fireworks at dark.
- Cheraw - Independence Day Celebration, July 3rd. Fireworks event is in downtown Cheraw from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.
- Newberry - 4th of July Fireworks, July 4th. Newberry High School Mike Ware Field. Fireworks begin shortly after dusk.
- Seneca - 4th of July Celebration, July 4th. The event is at Gignilliant Field starting at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin shortly after dark.
- Elloree - 4th of July Celebration, July 4th. A town picnic starts at 6:00 p.m. at Joe Miller Park, followed by a concert at 8:00 p.m and fireworks after. There are minimal fees associated with this event.

- Liberty - Love My Liberty Independence Day Celebration, July 4th. The event is at the old LIberty High School Stadium from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Pickens - Annual 4th of July Celebration, July 4th. The event is in downtown Pickens and starts at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks are at 10:00 p.m.
- Columbia - Fort Jackson Torch Light Tattoo - Cancelled this year. Fort Jackson held a huge Centennial Celebration in June instead.

- Spartanburg - Red, White & Boom, July 4th. This event take place at Barnet Park from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Sumter - Fireworks in the Park, July 1. Located at Dillon Park. Starts at 9:30 p.m.
- Union - Light Up The Lake, July 4th, The event is at Veteran's Memorial Park in Union starting at 2:00 p.m. Fireworks are at 10:00 p.m.
- Rock Hill - Red White and Boom, July 3rd. The event is in Old Town and starts at 5:30 p.m., with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.
